FAQ

As of February 2026, the Bastrop Pregnancy Resource Center began doing business as (DBA) Pathways Women & Family Center.

Why did you change your name?

For 17 years, we have been the Bastrop Pregnancy Resource Center. As we look to the future, we recognize the need to remain relevant and impactful. The culture and landscape around us have evolved, and so must we, to effectively meet the needs of women today. With our new name, Pathways Women & Family Center, we’re focused on empowering women to choose life. We’ve found that our current name can sometimes discourage women from seeking our services, and we want to remove that barrier. We also understand that our mission extends far beyond meeting the immediate challenges of pregnancy. Pregnancy marks the beginning of a new child in a family, and we believe it is essential to support not only women but also families as a whole. We also recognized that women desire a place created specifically for them: a space that feels welcoming, supportive, and thoughtfully designed with their needs in mind. Our new name reflects our commitment to walking alongside women & families, offering guidance, care, and encouragement every step of the way. As we continue to meet these needs, all our services will remain free of charge. Our name has changed, but our dedication to the pro-life movement while sharing the Love of Jesus and helping women & families is stronger than ever.

How did you choose the name Pathways Women & Family Center?

We chose the name Pathways Women & Family Center after listening closely to the women and families we serve. Many women shared that they hesitated to come to our center because they did not want to continue a pregnancy, and having “pregnancy” in our name made them feel we could not support them where they were. If the client no longer wanted to be pregnant, having it in our name discouraged them from contacting us at all. At the same time, we serve many families with young children, and our former name no longer accurately reflects the breadth of care we provide. We also learned that including a regional name led some women to believe they had to live in Bastrop to access our services.

Pathways Women & Family Center better reflects our desire to remove barriers and create a welcoming, inclusive space for women and families at many stages of life. The name also more clearly expresses what we do. At Pathways, we invite individuals and families to choose the path that best fits their needs, whether that is parenting support, improving physical, spiritual, and emotional health, building life skills, or finding connection through community. Our name reflects our commitment to walking alongside each person with respect, compassion, and practical support as they move forward on their own pathway.

Are you still a Christian, pro-life, non-profit organization?

Yes, yes, and yes! We continue to uphold our Statement of Faith, rooted in a relationship with Jesus Christ and a 100% pro-life commitment. Our beliefs, philosophy, and values remain unchanged.

My check was made out to the Bastrop Pregnancy Resource Center. Can you still accept my donation?

Yes, our 501(c)(3) designation remains Bastrop Pregnancy Resource Center, for which we have obtained a legal DBA, Pathways Women & Family Center. This means we can accept checks, credit cards, and other payments made to Pathways Women & Family Center or Bastrop Pregnancy

Resource Center (BPRC) for the foreseeable future.

Will my recurring donations to the Bastrop Pregnancy Resource Center be processed as usual?

Yes, on your bank and credit card statements, your donations may still appear as processed by the Bastrop Pregnancy Resource Center, as that is our legal name. You do not need to take any action to continue your monthly recurring gifts (which we deeply appreciate).

Will my donations to Pathways Women & Family Center still be tax-deductible?

Absolutely! The only thing changing is our name. Our 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt status will remain the same, along with our TAX ID # 1705326034019 and EIN #27-0665145.
